چکیده
Reported here, thioester containing microparticles were designed with 40% excess thiol to enable thiol–thioester exchange facilitate the formation of cohesive films from particles. A thiol-Michael dispersion polymerization was used generate a diameter 4.0 ± 0.4 μm. The particles then swollen base at varying concentrations activate and subsequently compressed between two glass slides. Resultant characterized over time profilometry atomic force microscopy (AFM) infer particle coalescence different catalyst loadings times. Tensile tests performed confirming structural integrity particle-based films. Furthermore, welded nondynamic network demonstrating feasibility in potential applications materials differing mechanical properties. Being able control functionality particles, thus properties resultant films, is also important for coatings, adhesives, 3D printing where spatial patterning or selective material property needed.

Shape-tunable core-shell microparticles.
Colloidal polymer particles are an important class of materials finding use in both everyday and basic research applications. Tailoring their composition, shape, and functionality is of key importance. In this article, we describe a new class of shape-tunable core-shell microparticles. They are composed of a cross-linked polystyrene (PS) core and a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) shell of vary...
متن کاملDewatering of MNFC containing microfibrils and microparticles from soybean hulls: mechanical and transport properties of hybrid films
Cellulosic microfibrils (SMF) and microparticles (SMP) extracted from soybean hulls were used in films and also combined with woodbased micro and nanofibrillar cellulose (MNFC) in hybrid systems. During film consolidation a remarkable reduction in water drainage was observed in the presence of SMF and SMP. The hybrid films displayed strength (elastic modulus and strength at rupture) and barrier...

Isolation of microparticles and biological cells from mixtures and suspensions is a central problem in a variety of biomedical applications. This problem, for instance, is of an immense importance for microfluidic devices manipulating with whole blood samples. It is instructive to know how the mobility and dynamics of rigid microparticles is altered by the presence of micrometer-size roughness ...
متن کاملTunable dual growth factor delivery from polyelectrolyte multilayer films.
A promising strategy to accelerate joint implant integration and reduce recovery time and failure rates is to deliver a combination of certain growth factors to the integration site. There is a need to control the quantity of growth factors delivered at different times during the healing process to maximize efficacy. Polyelectrolyte multilayer (PEM) films, built using the layer-by-layer (LbL) t...
